Opening Statements was GREAT! Freelance Legal very good & very useful. School Law entertaining!

Good speakers. O&G speaker couldn't really speak to the industry's role in depressing growth of alternatives (e.g., government bailouts, lack of tax incentives) but it was helpful to get an insider's view.

All Excellent!

Ethics of Freelance Legal Services: Hiring and Being Hired as a Contract Attorney (Apr 2020)

Many lawyers find work as freelance attorneys or contract lawyers, who do work for other lawyers and firms. But what are the ethical implications when hiring, or being hired as a contract or freelance lawyer. Does  the contract lawyer always have an attorney client relationship with the underlying client? Do flat fees need to be kept in your trust account? Learn the answers to these questions and more in this one hour presentation.

School Safety from the School and Parent Point of View (Mar 2020)

At a time schools are taking measures to address disparate punishment, bullying and excessive out of school suspensions, the Santa Fe and other mass-shooting incidents have focused federal and state attention on school safety, threat assessment and measures to address these concerns. The panel discusses these competing demands from a school district and from a parent attorney perspective in order to give a better understanding as school attorneys advise their clients.

Quality of Life Tools: Bloom Where You Are Planted  (Mar 2020)

The goal of quality of life considerations is to help make your clients/beneficiaries feel valued and to appreciate life despite their challenges. In most cases, distribution requests between beneficiaries and professionals are framed as necessities or needs rather than improving their quality of  life. Learn tools and specific recommendations of large and small distributions for evaluating requests in part through quality of life considerations.

Outlook for Energy: A Perspective to 2040 (Apr 2020)

The Outlook for Energy is ExxonMobil’s global view of energy demand and supply through 2040. It also highlights the dual challenge of providing affordable energy to support prosperity while reducing environmental impacts – including the risks of climate change. ExxonMobil uses the Outlook to help inform its long-term business strategies and investment plans.

Energy is fundamental to modern life, and as the world’s population approaches 9 billion people in 2040, we are challenged to improve living standards everywhere. Understanding the factors that drive the world’s energy needs – and likely choices to meet those needs – is the mission of the Outlook. By sharing the Outlook with the public, ExxonMobil hopes to broaden that understanding. Energy matters to everyone, and we all play a role in shaping its future.

Opening Statements: How to Use A Proven Marketing Formula to Clarify Your Story to the Jury (Jan 2020)

Story has been used since ancient times to captivate the human brain. It is easier for a person to remember stories than hard facts. Many fortune 500 companies and political campaigns have turned to a story formula in their marketing to help them clarify their message to their intended audience. Explore that same story framework to help attorneys tell a story during opening statements that will help clarify the message they want conveyed to the jury.
