2022 Robert O. Dawson eConference on Criminal Appeals
4.54 out of 5 stars
What was the overall quality of the course (presentation, materials, and technical delivery)?
Rate the overall teaching effectiveness and presentation skills of faculty for the course.
How would you rate the value of the materials provided as part of the course?

I think it would be advisable to offer one or perhaps two lectures which focus on in-depth issues surrounding habeas practice and in particular, if one or two judges from the CCA could participate in the discussion, using actual cases in which they have participated. Of interest would be discussion of how the judges convene and discuss the issues and by what process the decision to grant or deny relief is done.

Same people year in and year out. There are some like Michael Faulkenberg who should be there every year, but mostly it is the same presenters.

Excellent! So much practical information for a new appellate attorney.

Great course!

The speakers were excellent and I found the information helpful.

Justice Parker's comments were very helpful to the practitioner.

Excellent course!!

I thought some of the presentations were so good that I downloaded video as well as course materials. Thanks.

Lawyers and judges are unified by words contained in statutes (i.e., statutory law). It occurs repeatedly in the mind of every lawyer and judge when interpreting and construing statutes. Gain insight on statutory construction and the pervasive influence of the Code Construction Act on Texas criminal law.
