The State(s) of U.S. Privacy Law (Aug 2021)
Unlike the European Union and other jurisdictions, the U.S. has a sectoral approach to data privacy law with no comprehensive data privacy framework in sight. This presentation discusses the latest developments in U.S. privacy law including the California Privacy Rights Act, Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, and the many states that have proposed similar legislation. It also provides tips for keeping up with the shifting sands of U.S. privacy law and developing a sustainable compliance program.
